The trust list and "Always Reject..." checkbox are used to manage the incoming network clipboard data requests. Here are some use cases:>

  • Uncheck the "Always Reject..." checkbox. When there is a computer sending clipboard data to you, you will be notified by the notifying message box whether to accept or not.
  • Add some entries in the trust list and check the; "Always Reject..." checkbox. You will be notified only if the network data is from the computers in the trust list.; Requests from other computers not in the trust will be filtered out and automatically rejected.
  • Your have two computers A and B and you often want to copy data at computer A and paste at computer B.; At computer B, add an entry to the trust list, set the entry's address to computer A and action to "Accept". When you send data from computer A to B, the notifying message box will NOT be popping up at computer B. The record is silently added in computer B's record list and is ready for pasting.
  • Make the trust list empty, and check "Always Reject...". That means you are not going to accept any network data and just want to use Clipboard Recorder at the local machine. >Clipboard Recorder will not listen to network for clipboard data and the network transferring functionality will be disabled.

When you are doing a copy/cut, the application you are working on puts rather rich formats information into the system's clipboard. However, in most situations, you don't really need to all those formats.  You can configure Clipboard Recorder what formats to record. Although Clipboard Recorder internally implements advanced compression algorithm to keep the overhead of storing clipboard data to minimal, you can further reduce this overhead by filter out certain formats that you do not need.  For instance, if you are working on a text edit software and all the copy/paste actions are dealing with plain text format, you can uncheck all other formats in the list.
